John and David Novak will be racing in the Mt Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hill Climb on Saturday, August 15, 2009 for the second time. You may have seen bicycle racers on TV challenging mountains in Europe, but they call this event the "TOUGHEST HILLCLIMB RACE IN THE WORLD!". The Mt Washington Auto Road is 7.6 miles in length, has an average grade of 12% with extended sections of 18% and the last 50 yards is an amazing 22%! Sprint that to the finish! This race is a fundraiser for the Tin Mountain Conservation Center (TMCC) in Albany, NH. Tin Mountain Conservation Center is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization. The center’s Tax ID is 02-0353541. Last year both John and David finished under 1:20 so will race in the Top Notch group this year with the pros. John finished in 67th place overall with a time of 1:14.37 and David finished 27th overall with a time of 1:08.52. They also earned a 1st place for a team. Please help them reach their goal of $350 each. Donations may be made to TMCC and sent to Sickler’s Bike Shop designated for John and David. Any help will be appreciated.
