Around Town Bicycles Announce Winter Bike Maintenance Course
(Due to its’ success, this series will be repeated; last chance before season begins!)

This winter, Lee Frantz of Around Town Bicycles will be teaching a series of Bike Maintenance classes based on the “Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair” by Park Tool. The itineraries are listed below.
Most classes consist of a lecture and demonstration, followed by a lab period for you to practice your newfound knowledge and skill. Yes, you will have homework! It is advised that you read the assigned chapters in the book before coming to class. We will make much more progress this way and teach you more. (Sessions will last approx. 2 hours. Break w/ refreshments provided.)

Each participant will be required to purchase Park’s “Big Blue Book of Bicycles Repair,” (part # BBB-1) - $25.00. Participants will receive 20% off tools and replacements parts until March 27th 2010.

Description

We are located on the first block of North Main St in downtown Wilkes-Barre. Our address is Rear 59 N Main. Our building is not directly along Main St. but behind The Polish Union Building. There is an alleyway between this building and ACME Locksmith. Head down this alleyway and you will run into (well, not literally) our building. See parking on your right.
From the North / Scranton: Proceed South on Route 81 and take the first Wilkes-Barre exit, EXIT 170B onto route 309 N. Proceed to Exit 3, Wilkes-Barre, Plains. Turn Left onto River St and proceed 1-2 miles on River St. You will cross North St and see the LuzerneCounty Courthouse on your right. After passing the pedestrian crosswalk, turn left onto W Jackson St. Atthe next traffic light turn right onto North Main St. Go one block, across Union St and turnleft after ACME Locksmith. See directions above.
From the South via 309: Proceed North on 309 (N Mountain Blvd) for about 4 miles down the hill. Proceed straight onto Wilkes-Barre Township Blvd (309N) to the first traffic light. Turn left on to Blackman St. Proceed through 1 traffic light and turn right onto Hazel St. Follow Hazel as it veers left downhill. Turn right onto South Main St. Proceed about 1 mile to Public Square and veer right. Proceed half-way around Public Square then turn right onto North Main St. Our store is located halfway up the block on your right. See directions above.
From the south via 476: Proceed North on I - 476 to Exit 105, Wilkes-Barre. Turn left onto Bear Creek Blvd / PA 115 North. Drive 4 miles down the steep incline to traffic light. (Be advised this road can be quite hazardous in poor winter conditions.) Go straight where PA-115 N becomes 309-N. Proceed to Exit 3, Wilkes-Barre, Plains. Turn Left onto River St and proceed 1-2 miles on River St. You will cross North St and see the Luzerne County Courthouse on your right.
